Christmas Decor to DIY Instead of Buy
Recently, while browsing for new Christmas decor at a popular home decor store, I found some adorable pieces in-store and online that I loved but were slightly out of my price range.
Instead of purchasing the items, I decided to create my own pieces of Christmas decor using inexpensive materials.
Merry & Bright Trio
The inspiration for this Christmas trio cost $26.99 but I was able to create my own version of the trees for $14.00 using some poplar wood boards from Lowe’s and a few supplies from my craft stash.
Sled Ornaments
These Dollar Tree DIY ornaments were created for a fraction of the cost of the inspiration pieces. They will look adorable on a Christmas tree and nobody will be able to tell they came from the dollar store.
Merry Christmas Picture
A simple Dollar Tree picture was transformed into a beautiful piece of DIY Christmas decor using a piece of scrapbook paper, some glittery letter stickers, and some basic craft supplies.
Tabletop Tree Set
Instead of spending $49.49 on a set of tabletop Christmas trees, I created my own using a few Dollar Tree supplies and my favorite chalk paints from Walmart.
Star Plaque
I had so much fun creating this piece and I am already imagining how I can apply this same concept to future seasonal decor.
Metal Christmas Vase
With a bit of black vinyl, I was able to transform this Michael’s clearance find into a beautiful Christmas piece that can be styled in numerous ways.
Red Berry Centerpiece
Although it was very time-intensive, I am pleased with how beautiful this centerpiece turned out. While the inspiration piece for this DIY cost $89.99, I used Dollar Tree items to create my own centerpiece for around $25.00.
