Quick + Easy Target Dollar Spot Halloween Upgrades

DIY

Over the past few months, I have been collecting some of the newest pieces of Halloween decor from the Target Dollar Spot. While they were already adorable, I gave them a few upgrades to help them match my style a bit more. Keep reading to see how I transformed these pieces of Target Dollar Spot Halloween decor.

Crystal Ball

To create the illusion of a crystal ball, I cut out a free “Spooky Season” SVG from Caluya Design and attached it to a piece of transparency film. I placed the transparency film inside the glass globe and set the globe on top of the hand.

Haunted House

I used my Cricut machine to cut the text “Happy Haunting” out of white vinyl. I chose the font Monster Mush from Cricut Design Space because I loved that it looked slightly spooky.

Ghost Sign

This sign was inspired by @intheworkplace on Instagram. She created an adorable BOO banner that I recreated on Canva and added to a Target Dollar Spot ghost sign.

Glass Jar

I dressed up this simple glass jar with a sticker from Michael’s, styrofoam skulls and bones from Dollar Tree, and a little bit of baker’s twine.

Ghost Cloche

I used spray starch and creepy cloth from Dollar Tree to create this adorable ghost that I added to a Target Dollar Spot cloche. The ghost turned out a bit flimsy so if I were to do it again, I would use cheese cloth and fabric stiffener instead.

Gumball Machine

This Target Dollar Spot gumball machine was completely clear so I used matte black spray paint to paint the bottom of the machine and the lid and I like the new look much better. The black on the bottom hides the plastic bags that I used to fill in the bottom of the gumball machine so that I didn’t have to purchase as many Dollar Tree eyeballs as a filler.

Broom Parking Sign

For this simple sign, I painted a Dollar Tree Plus sign with Plaster chalk paint and added a Broom Parking SVG that I purchased from Etsy. To complete the sign, I attached a Target Dollar Spot broom to the side of the text using hot glue.

Pumpkin Hack

I saw an adorable pumpkin with this text at the Target Dollar Spot but instead of buying another pumpkin to add to my overflowing collection, I upcycled a pumpkin from my stash to save space in my house and keep a few extra dollars in my wallet.
