Fall Decor to DIY Instead of Buy

DIY

As the seasons change, I like to browse various home decor stores to learn about new trends and find inspiration for DIY projects. Recently, I saw a few pieces of fall decor at several high-end retail stores and I was inspired to create similar items using budget-friendly materials from Dollar Tree, Dollar General, and the Target Dollar Spot (also known as Bullseye’s Playground).

Welcome Friends Beaded Plaque

This beautiful Dollar Tree DIY was easy to put together. After giving a rectangular frame a few coats of chalk paint, I added vinyl text that I designed in Cricut Design Space. To add the perfect finishing touch, I added a garland made with Dollar Tree wood beads and wood acorns.

Scalloped Edge Plates

These “plates” are actually Dollar Tree galvanized bottle caps that have been painted with a few coats of chalk paint. I found the images on the plates in Cricut Design Space and applied them to the bottle caps with the help of my favorite paper transfer tape from Expressions Vinyl.

If you choose to recreate these, I do not recommend using them as actual plates since the materials used to create the pieces are not food safe.

Pumpkin Floral Window

With the help of some Dollar Tree fall foliage, wheat stems, and pumpkin clips, this Dollar General window was given a fall makeover that would be an adorable addition to anyone’s fall decor.

Wood Pumpkin Trio

This fall arrangement was created with three Dollar Tree pumpkin signs, a piece of Dollar Tree peel and stick wall tile, and wood beads from a popular online retailer.

Hello Fall Wood Plaque

This simple sign was created using a wood blank from the Target Dollar Spot, a wood “hello” script, and letter stickers from Dollar Tree.
